Life

I know you’re there, I can feel you nudging at me

Like a playful puppy or a rabid wolf, in turns

Roller coaster ride, infinite slowness

Sharp, breathless descent into

Go Away!

What’s been your experience with shop assistants over the last few weeks? Helpful? Bored? Can’t be bothered? Kindness personified? Manic expression in the eyes with a few clumps of hair missing? I worked in retail many years back and, I must confess, I can’t help but feel sorry for shop workers in the weeks leading up to Christmas. For this reason I do everything in my power to be patient..

Song Lyric Sunday: Girls

Good morning fellow bloggers, I hope that your week has been kind to you and that you’re in tearing spirits and ready for Song Lyric Sunday. This musical challenge, brought to us by the lovely Helen is a great opportunity to share your favourite tracks, discover new music and hook up with other bloggers; why not give it a try?

FOWC: Magical

“How’s she doing Sergeant?” Inspector Carlton look up from his paperwork, eyes red and sore behind his old horn-rimmed specs as DS Marlowe entered his office.

“As well as can be expected Guv, she’s seen the doc and he’s said that, other than being under-developed for her age and malnourished, she’s not in too bad a state”

The Next Step…..

Many of you wonderful guys out there have been so encouraging about the drivel I post on here that I decided to submit a few short stories to an online magazine. I don’t know if anything will come of it but it’s the first step so I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your support. I’ve felt stuck for a while now but, with this, I feel like I may, finally, be moving forward.

FOWC: Target

“You bitch! Can’t you see what you’ve done with your moaning and carrying on all the time”

“Me? It’s thanks to you that I don’t have any friends, that I’m stuck in this place day in and day out”

“Yes, that’s right, turn it round like you always do. What happened with Michael huh? You loved him, you hated him, you were clingy then, the next minute, you didn’t want to know. It’s no great surprise that he took of with Sally in the end is it?”

Words

So many words screaming through my mind, tearing it apart

Nonsense, every single one. Incoherent, unconnected, banal

Cruel syllables, pathetic prose mock and taunt. Brain farts
